Dominique “Dom” Johnson

Dom’s Celebration of Life was held at Word Assembly in Oakland on 1/11/2018.

Lavondia Williams sang beautifully for everyone, Rev. Wanda Johnson led a Prayer of Comfort, Bishop Keith L. Clark spoke powerful words to remember, and Daryle Allums led the Prayer Healing Circle.

Many of Dom’s friends spoke in memory of him, and there were several speakers from the community – Rev. Ida Johnson,
Tyson Amir, Jasmine Hardison, and Dinyal New.

After the service, we went to the location at W. Grand and Brush St. where Dom was killed. Daryle led a community trash clean-up in the street, and we placed a memorial cross and flowers in Dom’s memory.

A big THANK YOU to Daryle Allums and Adamika Village for organizing the service and memorial, and to everyone who volunteered their time to help make this happen! Also a big THANK YOU Word Assembly for donating the use of their church for the service! 💗

Dom was only 30 when he was shot and killed in Oakland, right before Christmas. He was well-known for his community activism, and loved helping people. He has a beautiful 7-year-old daughter named Priscilla that is now without a dad. Please keep Dom’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.
~Rest in Paradise, Dom~ 💔👑💔
