Preliminary Hearing Begins – Murder of Otilio “Nico” Martinez
The preliminary court hearing for some of the 7 young men charged in the brutal murder of 18-year-old Otilio “Nico” Martinez will begin tomorrow morning.
Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers as they will probably have to re-live the horrible nightmare that happened on the night of September 19, 2016.
One of the young men charged with Nico’s murder was a Richmond ONS/Advance Peace “fellow”. Six of the young man’s associates have also been charged with Nico’s murder, and most of the felonies listed below.
Richmond PD are trying to locate an eighth man, who will also be charged as well. It is unknown if any of the other young men were in the Richmond ONS program, because that information isn’t publicly available.
Nico was was walking home around 11:40PM on September 19, 2016. He was just minutes away from his house when he was was shot at over 60 times by multiple young men, in front of Zion Hill Church, on Bayview Avenue.
There was no way that Nico could have survived his massive injuries.
Nico’s family, friends, and the entire community have been left devastated by the heinous nature of his murder, and the more than 30 other felonies that Nico’s alleged murderers have been charged with. Those crimes include 2 more murders, 14 attempted murders and various burglaries, carjackings and home invasions, including a high-profile Orinda home invasion.
